What the War of Independence Actually Settled
Most people believe that the American Revolution settled one fundamental question: who governs this land. The British are out. Americans are in. Freedom won. That is the story as it has been taught for generations.
What almost no one was taught is what the peace settlement deliberately left open. It did not force anyone to choose a single political identity. It did not require loyalty to the new nation from everyone living within its borders. Instead — and this is the part that changes everything — it left the choice of political status up to each individual.
That choice has always existed. It exists today. Most Americans have simply never been told it was theirs to make.

The Three Statuses That Have Always Existed
In the years following the peace settlement it became clear that identity — political identity — needed to be formally established. Three distinct political statuses emerged on American soil. They are not equal. They carry different rights, different obligations, and different relationships to the law. Understanding them is the foundation of everything this course teaches.
The birthright status
American State National
Free, sovereign, and independent. The land and soil jurisdiction. This is the status that belongs to you by right of birth on American soil — the freeborn birthright political status of the people who built this country. It is not assigned by any government. It is inherent. But it must be declared and recorded to be fully operative. For those born in another country, a minimum of seven years of continuous residence on American soil with documented proof is required to establish this standing.
The voluntary foreign status
British Territorial Citizen / U.S. Citizen
After the War, those who wished to remain loyal to the British Crown could do so voluntarily by adopting British Territorial Citizenship — also known as a U.S. Citizen. This status was always available and remains available today. Most Americans have been placed into this status without their knowledge through the birth registration process that began in the 1920s.
The second foreign status
Municipal Citizen / citizen of the United States
A second foreign status exists for those choosing loyalty to the Municipal Government operating in Washington DC — also known as a citizen of the United States — a system operating under Roman Civil Law. Like the Territorial status, most Americans have been enrolled in this system as well, creating two layers of foreign obligation stacked on top of their actual birthright status.
The Choice Nobody Told You About
Here is the essential point that the peace settlement established and that no one has been teaching: you were not forced to renounce any foreign affiliation if you did not want to. And by the same token, you were not required to adopt one.
The right to declare and record your freeborn birthright political status — as a free, sovereign, and independent American — has always existed. The individual has always had the right to stand on their actual birthright rather than a foreign status imposed without consent.
What changed is that beginning in the early 20th century, Americans were systematically enrolled into foreign statuses through a birth registration process that was never disclosed to them or their parents. The choice that was supposed to be yours was made for you — without your knowledge, without your consent, and without anyone explaining what had been done or why it mattered.
Think about it
If three political statuses have always existed — and you were enrolled in a foreign one without your knowledge — what does that mean about your current relationship to the law?
It means you have been operating under a set of rules, obligations, and limitations that were designed for a foreign citizen — not for you. The Constitutional guarantees that belong to American State Nationals do not automatically protect someone who has been enrolled as a British Territorial Citizen or Municipal citizen. Those guarantees belong to the parties of the Constitution — and a foreign citizen is not automatically one of those parties.
This is not a technicality. It is the foundational reason why so many Americans feel that the system does not work the way it was supposed to. For the most part, they have been operating inside a foreign system — not the one their birthright entitled them to. Correcting the record changes that relationship at the root.
Names, Precision, and Why They Matter
One of the most important things to understand about navigating your political status is the deliberate use of similar names to obscure the difference between these systems. The United States. The UNITED STATES. the United States. These are not the same entity — but they are designed to appear interchangeable to someone who is not paying careful attention.
Why the style of a name changes everything
The United States — the actual union of fifty states. The American entity. The one whose Constitution contains the Bill of Rights.
the United States — a Municipal Corporation set up under the Government of Westminster, functioning under Roman Civil Law. A foreign Subcontractor. Not The United States.
JOHN MICHAEL DOE — the all-capitals name that appears on your birth certificate, your Social Security card, your driver’s license. This is not you — the living man or woman. It is a legal construct, a corporate entity operating in a foreign jurisdiction. Learning to distinguish between yourself and this entity is one of the most important skills this course teaches.
John Michael Doe — upper and lower case. This is the form of your name that corresponds to you as a living man or woman in the land and soil jurisdiction. When you sign documents in this form and record them on the public record, you are operating as yourself — not as the corporate entity created in your name.
What Recording Your Status Unlocks
This is not simply a historical or philosophical exercise. Correcting and recording your political status is the foundation for a set of practical outcomes that most Americans never knew were available to them. What follows is not a promise. It is a claim — one that has always existed, that belongs to you by birthright, and that no one was ever going to tell you about.

Your lineage, documented and on record
Not a family tree on a genealogy website. Your actual standing — who you are, where you come from, and your birthright status — published on the public record in a way that puts the world on notice.
The financial layer most people never reach
Inside your correct status are exemptions that have always existed and were never disclosed to you. Learning to assert them — through revocations, tax-exempt strategies, and reclaiming what belongs to you — often returns dollars to your household immediately. For many people it feels like a part-time job that was always there, waiting for someone to show up and claim it.
A claim against what is owed
Gold was confiscated from our ancestors. This country was built using our people and our assets as collateral — and credit was created from that collateral that was never returned to the people who provided it. Correcting your status is the foundation for making those claims. It is the standing required to say: this is owed to me and mine.
Counterparty risk, defined and removed where possible
Right now, most of what you call your assets are promises made by institutions that could fail, freeze, or confiscate them. Understanding which of your holdings carry counterparty risk — and which do not — changes every financial decision you make from this point forward.
Protection for your home before something goes wrong
Liens, fraud, and institutional overreach happen to people who were never shown how to prevent them. Understanding your standing on the public record is the first line of defense — before a problem exists, not after.
An unincorporated business that operates outside government overreach
Operating as an unincorporated business under your correct status means you do not need to register with the state, pay franchise taxes, or subject yourself to the regulatory apparatus that governs incorporated entities.

Or you could declare and record your freeborn birthright political status as an American State National. That choice was never taken away.
